Cactus Measurement - Keeping Track

I bought a cutting of my big cactus to Florida last Christmas. I have had the original plant for about 30 years. The original plant has grown so tall and wide (see below) that we are not taking it with us when we move in June. The people buying our house were very happy to have it.  I am taking a taller, thinner cutting with me to our new DC 1 bedroom apartment, and I gave my mom another smaller cutting.

We noticed the Florida cactus already seems taller. I measured its height today so I can keep track of how fast it is growing. It measured 22 inches.

The original cactus I've had for 30 years +

My father in law has one identical in his front yard in DeLand, FL. It was purchased at a church sale yaers ago and was but 3 " tall. When I visited him today, the cactus looks to be close to 10 to 11 foot tall.
