Shane is traveling on business once again. He took this photo of the Capitol building tonight near where he is staying. He said the soap in his room said this place is the smallest U.S. State capital. I'm not sure if it means the building or the population of the city, but soap doesn't lie. Can you guess where Shane is?

I don't think we're the smallest, but it looks a little like the Columbia Statehouse.
But then so many capitol buildings look alike.
Looks like it might me Montpelier, Vermont. I saw that building once, many years ago.
Walt knows his small capitals. Shane is in Vermont, and I believe the soap meant that Montpelier is the smallest State capital city by population--with about 8,000 people. The largest State capital is Phoenix, which surpised me. I would have guessed Boston, but it ranked 6th. Columbia, SC,didn't make the top 10 for smallest or largest State capital. However, Montpelier is part of the Barre Micropolitan area, with 59,564 residents. So while it might not be the smallest state capital area, it is technically the smallest state capital city. Is this more trivia than you cared to know?
