Happy Birthday Mary!
Mary Tyler Moore turns 73 today. The above is the theme to the first season of the Mary Tyler Moore Show. Today is also the birthday of Ted Danson (62), Jon Voight (71), Patricia Clarkson (50), Paula Poundstone (50), Jude Law (37), and Marianne Faithful (63). Who needs Entertainment Tonight when you have Running With Blue Sponge?

When I was a young gay lad I told myself that when I grew up and had my own apt I would get a big letter 'M' for my wall, like Mary had. Years later when I had my own apt and was grocery shopping, this theme song popped into my head. Thanks for the memory!
I, too, wanted the big "M" but turned upside down. Never got it, though.
How did I make it on my own?
I definitely like the first season's theme song the best. It tells her story. I love the white mustang and her emotional and exciting departure from her old job and hometown.
You have to play it using the HQ button or the sound and picture won't match...the music will end quite early otherwise. Awesome theme song.
